How I Paint - Terrain - Wooden stakes, palisades and platforms

Image
I’ve really enjoyed painting the Azyrite Ruins and other terrain features for Warcry and Age of Sigmar . I’m starting to build up a solid collection of pieces, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the table come to life. In this article, I’m focusing on the wooden components of my Warcry terrain—specifically, the wooden walkways and barricades . These differ from the wooden planks found on the ruins, as the branches used in these structures still have bark. I wanted these to look subtly different from the planks, and after a bit of experimenting, I’m really happy with the final result. The process is fairly quick, though a few steps require drying time.   Paints required: Skavenblight Dinge Dryad Bark Wyldwood Agrax Earthshade Rakarth Flesh Deathworld Forest Zandri Dust Ushabti Bone Screaming Skull Dawnstone Administratum Grey Elysian Green Seraphim Sepia Chaos Black Spray Start by undercoating everything with Chaos Black Spray . The wooden planks were then basecoated with...

How I Paint - Terrain - Rusted Iron

I’ve really enjoyed painting the Azyrite Ruins and other terrain features for Warcry and Age of Sigmar . I’m starting to build up a solid collection of pieces, and it’s been rewarding to see the table come to life. In this article, I’m focusing on the metal components of my Warcry terrain—specifically, the metal grates found in the Azyrite Ruins and the ruined eight-pointed Chaos stars on the barricades. I wanted these metal parts to look like they had been exposed to the elements for a long time, corroding naturally with rust. This effect adds some lovely orange tones that contrast beautifully with the grey stone, green moss, and brown wood. For this tutorial, I used a barricade miniature. I painted the wooden stakes first, but the rust technique can be applied to any metal surface you want to weather.   Paints required: Leadbelcher Rhinox Hide Nuln Oil Black Templar Agrax Earthshade Doombull Brown Skrag Brown Trollslayer Orange Ironbreaker Lahmian Medium Chaos Black Spray...

Agent's Clash - April 25 - Nemesis Tournament

Image
On the 5th of April 2025, I once again headed to Redhill, England, for another tournament hosted by the Agents of Sigmar. For a few months, I had been wanting to play Daggok's Stab-Ladz. After talking to Harry (aka Slippy), I decided to give them a go. In the week leading up to the tournament, I played two games on Tabletop Simulator (TTS)—one against Harry’s Looncourt and another against Pete’s (one of the Agents of Sigmar) Headsman’s Curse. I won both games, and in each one, I learned a little more about my deck. My Stab-Ladz My deck is built using cards from Countdown to Cataclysm (C2C) and Wrack and Ruin (WR). The strategy behind the deck is to dish out chip damage to weaken my opponent’s fighters before finishing them off with the Stab-Ladz. Additionally, the deck is capable of continuing to deal damage and potentially score objectives even if all of my fighters are taken out. Thricefold Discord - Warband Review

Image
Introduction The Thricefold Discord are a trio of Slaaneshi Daemons, cursed to wander the Underworlds as punishment for their relentless bickering. Tasked with harvesting souls, they cannot return to their master until they have claimed six hundred and sixty-six—an ordeal meant to teach them the cooperation they so sorely lack. Leading the trio is Vexmor, the Excessively Indolent [1], accompanied by Vashtiss, the Coiled [2], and Lascivyr, the Blessed Blade [3]. Bound by fate and rivalry, they scheme and squabble even as they carry out their decadent duty, each seeking to outshine the others in the eyes of their dark patron. Fighter Characteristics The leader of the Thricefold Discord is the Vexmor, the Indolent. He has a Move of 3, a Save of 1 Block, 5 Health, and a Bounty of 3. His single melee attack has a Range of 2, hits on 1 Hammers, and deals 2 damage. Upon inspiration, his attack improves to 2 Hammer. Additionally, Vexmor makes use of the Indolent warscroll ability (see be...

Warhammer Underworlds - Nemesis Deck Library

Image
Checkout my  Warhammer Underworlds  for more articles. As I start to play more Warhammer Underworlds, I am building up a library of Nemesis decks. All decks have been used with reasonable success. Initially, as with the rest of my blog, this page was just a place to store my different decks but I thought they might be useful to other people. My decks do not have a name after them, but any from other contributors do. In addition, if the decks were used in tournaments, I have included that information as well.
