Aeronautica Imperialis - Faction Review - Aeldari - Asuryani

Image
Aeronautica Imperialis is back for a third year with the Wrath of Angels box set and I cannot wait. I love this game. I love the idea of aerial combat; the miniatures are gorgeous and now we have two more playable forces. This I think is the most crucial point about this third year's release: two more playable factions, the Aeldari and the Space Marines (Adeptus Astartes). The Aeldari Asuryani (or as they were previously known, the Eldar) are one of the original races from Warhammer 40,000. In essence, they are space elves. This means, they should be fast manoeuvrable and skilled at range. They should also crumple if hit, then again, they should be hard to hit due to their heretical xenos technology. How does this compare to their actual stats in the game? Within this article are some examples of aircraft with weapon loadouts. Each loadout provides the average amount of damage the aircraft can cause in a single round of firing.  Faction review links: Imperial Navy Orks Tau Empire A

This I think is the most crucial point about this third year's release: two more playable factions, the Aeldari and the Space Marines (Adeptus Astartes). The marines could draw a lot of new blood into the game, which can only benefit existing players. The Adeptus Astartes (or as they were previously known the Space Marines) are the most iconic faction in Warhammer 40,000. They are known for their ability in a short-ranged firefight and durability. Let us see how this plays out in this game.  Faction review links: Imperial Navy Orks Tau Empire Aeldari Adeptus Astarte (Space Marines) Necron More of my  Aeronautica articles   can be found here. Aeronautica Imperialis - Faction Review - Necron

The Necrons are the sixth faction to be released for Aeronautica Imperialis. They are the first faction to be released entirely via Forge World, something I am not happy about. The miniatures do look fantastic, but I do not like resin miniatures, or for that matter the price of Forge World products. Having stated this, I do like more support for this fantastic game and in the future, the Necrons may get plastic miniatures, like the Necromunda upgrades.  Within this article are some examples of aircraft with weapon loadouts. Each loadout provides the average amount of damage the aircraft can cause in a single round of firing.   Faction review links: Imperial Navy Orks Tau Empire Aeldari Adeptus Astarte (Space Marines) Necron This is the link to 'How I painted my Necrons aircraft'. Aeronautica Imperialis - Faction Review - Orks

Image
The Orks (along with the Imperial Navy) were one of the first two factions released for Aeronautica Imperialis. They have been an integral part of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe since its inception. Orks are a straightforward race with plenty of character and in Aeronautica Imperialis they are no exception. They are not the most powerful force and if you choose to use Orks, it is like playing the game in Hard mode. (Update 05/11/21) I have also written reviews: Imperial Navy Orks Tau Empire Aeldari Adeptus Astarte (Space Marines) Necron More of my  Aeronautica articles   can be found here.
