In June, my main focus remained on working through my Warhammer Underworlds warbands, and it has been a rewarding endeavor throughout this year. While I still have a backlog of warbands to paint, I've decided to prioritize the latest releases and work my way back through the different seasons. To kick off the month, I was thrilled to preorder the new Nighthaunt warband, the Headman's Curse. Consequently, my goal was to paint at least four miniatures from this warband.

I began by completing the remaining two members of Domitan's Stormcoven: Sarpon, the Cyclone, and Leonus Stratosi. Adhering to my customary Hallow Knights paint scheme, I added the finishing touches to these miniatures. With these two beautifully painted additions, I could proudly check off the task of "Painting a Warhammer Underworlds warband" from my list.

Next on my painting agenda was Ephilim's Pandemonium. My intention was to employ a diverse range of colors for the various Changers, with a focus on blues and pinks for their skin tones. Having already seen the cards and painted miniatures for this warband, I had a helpful guide to follow. Each Changer needed to possess a distinct appearance while still remaining an integral part of the warband. To begin, I painted Kindlefinger and Spawnmaw as Pink Horrors, capturing their essence perfectly. I then decided to give Apo'trax, the Starfish, a rainbow (trout) paint scheme, adding a vibrant touch. Lastly, Flamespooler took on a blue hue, complemented by greenish feathers to match Apo'trax's colors. With the Changers now complete, my next focus would be on the Headman's Curse. However, before I delved into painting this warband, I took part in my first Warhammer Underworlds tournament.

After an exhilarating tournament experience, I returned home and eagerly began building and painting the Headman's Curse warband. Sticking to my usual Nighthaunt scheme, I aimed to give these spectral beings an off-white appearance. I commenced by applying the base coat of "white" across the entire unit and then proceeded to work on the intricate details of each miniature. Starting with the Wielder of the Blade, I aimed to make Terminus, the blade, the centerpiece of the miniature. I endeavored to make each ghost's respective item the focal point of their model. With the completion of the Headman's Curse, I had the pleasure of once again checking off "Painting a Warhammer Underworlds warband" from my list. It was also a noteworthy achievement as, for the first time in years, I managed to paint everything I purchased within the month itself.

In total, I acquired four miniatures this month and successfully painted ten, reaffirming my accomplishment of "Painting more miniatures than I have bought." So far this year, I've painted an impressive total of 82 miniatures, with 46 of them belonging to the Warhammer Underworlds range.

Looking ahead to the upcoming month, I'm thrilled to continue painting my Warhammer Underworlds warbands. Feel free to leave a comment below—I would love to hear from you. Until next time!
