In early August, I took a two-week holiday break and didn't manage to do any painting. Upon my return home, I was eager to continue working on my Gnarlwood warbands. I had already finished painting the Sons of Velmourn and the Gnarlspirit Pack. Now, I needed to paint the remaining members of the Looncourt and the entire Arenai faction.

I started with the Arenai. My goal was to make the newer warbands match the older ones so that I could use them in Warcry games. To achieve this, I painted Gryselle, the Slaughterer, using the same colours as the Bladecoven warband. Since the Daughters of Khaine are a Death Cult, I predominantly used red and black for this warband, following my "How I Paint Daughters of Khaine" guide. After completing Gryselle, I painted the rest of the warband, accomplishing five miniatures this month and ticking off the task of 'painting a Warhammer Underworlds warband'.

After my break, I bought the new Skaven warband, Skabbik's Plaguepack, which consisted of six ratmen. This motivated me to paint at least one more miniature this month. So, I revisited the Looncourt and painted Skolko and Pronk, two Moonclan Grots firing a squig from a door catapult. This miniature was full of character and details, and I used my "How I Paint Moonclan Grots" and "How I Paint Squigs" guides to paint it.

With Skolko and Pronk completed, I finished the Looncourt by painting Grinkrak, completing my second Warhammer Underworlds warband this month (and eleventh for the year!).

In August, I managed to paint seven more miniatures, even though I bought the Plaguepack, which added six new miniatures to my collection. So, I've painted a total of 95 miniatures this year, with 59 of them from the Warhammer Underworlds range. I achieved my goal of painting more miniatures in a month than I bought.

That's it for my painting updates this month. I'd love to hear about your painting projects, so please leave a comment below. Happy painting!
