Army collection - Oathmark - Dwarves

In 1990, I read the Hobbit for the first time. A tale of a band of dwarves, who set off on a quest to retrieve their lost treasure from a dragon. At the same time as reading this book, I had just begun my first foray into miniature collecting and as such I was drawn to the dwarves. In my first few years of miniature collecting, I tried to build a dwarven army, but unfortunately, I never had the funds and so it was never built. With my discovery of Oathmark, I have developed a certain amount of nostalgia for my younger years. On top of this, I have been building a goblin force. So, it only feels right, that the ancient enemies of the goblins get to battle against the dwarves once again.

To build this army, I wanted to use the Warhammer third edition Armies book to guide my troop choices. Back then an army needed to include a certain number of troops for the dwarves it was 40 warriors and 20 crossbow men (dwarves). This was a good place to start. I began by build two units of ten dwarf soldiers.

To distinguish the different units, I used a different primary colour. To give the units a uniform whole, the amour, beards, and shield patterns were all painted in the same manner. How I Paint - Oathmark - Dwarves

For my third unit of ten dwarves, I wanted them to have spears. This would give them the extremely extremely useful 'Brace' ability in the game.

I am one box of dwarven infantry in and I already have 460pts of dwarves painted. I next need to pick up a captain before I start on some archers, there are no crossbows in this game.
